Reviews
Led by a drone-filled, modal chord progression, "Hallucinations" is one of the more descriptive and believable descriptions of the psychedelic experience from the 1967 period. The acoustic guitars led the charge here, and with some oddball percussion and a multi-layered production the song soars from start to finish. A loose, free verse lyric is the basis for Buckley's evocation in to the supernatural, yet there is a poetic sensibility that envelops the listener on a literate fashion. Although the numerous overdubs may sound dated today, the arrangement hasn't really dated that much in retrospect.
